Podopeadiatrics

What is it?

Podopeadiatrics is the diagnosis and management of paediatric foot disorders and their effects on the lower limb and the child as a whole. the human foot is a very complicated part of the body and the feet of young children are soft and pliable, so abnormal pressures can easily cause the foot to deform.

Why choose podopeadiatrics?

A child’s foot is more at risk compared with an adult. Biomechanical abnormalities as a child can cause long term damage, this is because the foot is more malleable. Children tend to have a high pain threshold as they are easily distracted and ill-fitting footwear is also an issue when it comes to children’s foot health.

How can I help you?

The most common problem which I help with in children are; flat feet, in-toeing, knock knees, curly toes, joint pain, metatarsus adductus, tired muscles and many more. I can help by diagnosing any anomalies that might be present. Many problems can be successfully treated when a child is young with advice, a thorough tailor made stretching regime or insoles and orthotics.
